HAND PULLED SCREEN PRINTING IN DEVON
SCREEN PRINTING
To put it simply, screen printing is the craft of applying a design to a substrate using a mesh screen, some ink and a squeegee. In our case the substrate is generally clothing such as t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and vests or tote bags.
There are a number of ways to get a design printed on to clothing but screen printing tends to be the highest quality and most economical option. When you choose to work with me we will discuss all decoration methods available to ensure you receive the service that best fits your requirements.
The process of screen printing your artwork on to some clothing or tote bags can seem a little daunting but it doesn’t have to be. We are here to guide you through every step of the way to make it as easy as possible. Here is a breakdown of how the process works, if you have any questions please contact us.
It goes without saying that to be able to print for you we are going to need your artwork. Ideally this will be supplied in either vector format as an AI or PDF file or a hi-res file at a minimum of 300 dpi and at print size (or larger). If you don’t have your artwork in any of these formats then don’t worry, we may be able to help get your artwork to where it needs to be for a high quality print, just fill out the form on our contact page and we will see what we can do.
Choosing the right garments is a vital stage in the ordering process. We will always do our best to recommend a product that fits both your requirements and budget. We always try to encourage the use of well made, higher quality, organic cotton garments as they are kinder to the environment, take better to the printing process (giving you the best possible finish), are nicer to wear and generally they will last longer which means less waste!
Once we have received your artwork and selected the garments to be used we will then create you a digital proof so you can visually confirm your happy with the colours, positioning and size of your artwork. We will not proceed with your job until this has been signed off.
Full payment is taken before production begins, payment can be made by bank transfer or over the phone by card.
A lot of processes go on behind the scenes to get your garments produced. We do everything in house which will include ordering your blank stock, preparing the artwork for print, printing the artwork on to film for exposure, coating and exposing your screens, mixing any required custom Pantone colours, registering the job on our manual screen printing carousel, hand printing the t-shirts and curing the ink (to make sure it doesn’t wash off) and then finally checking each finished item to ensure it meets our quality standards.
As standard all items are individually folded and packed neatly into a box or bag. We do also offer a range of finishing services such as inside neck prints, sewn in tags or hem tags, custom swing tags, individual bagging (with or without sizing labels).
Once completed we will contact you to let you know your order is complete. Depend on location we can drop it to you personally, you can collect it from us or we can ship it with a courier. We are confident you will be happy with your goods but if for any reason you are not please let us know so we can rectify any issues for you. Once you are happy, feel free to leave us a Google review or tag us in a photo on Instagram!
